Everyday I read out of a devotional book called Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. This devotional is written like Jesus is talking to you. Sounds a little bit weird, but this is the best daily devotional I have ever read. Yesterday the reading really hit home with me. The past week and a half have seemed so crazy. Our house is unorganized because of the new carpet we have to get, I started working, college is wrapping up, I got sick for a couple days, and the list could go on. In the car yesterday I was telling Atti that I feel like my head is just spinning because we are so out of our routine....and then I read the devotional. It is amazing how God speaks exactly what you need to hear when you need it most. He is so great the way He takes care of us.
Here is the reading from yesterday:
Trust Me, and don't be afraid. Many things feel out of control. Your routines are not running smoothly. You tend to feel more secure when your life is predictable. Let Me lead you to the rock that is higher than you and your circumstances. Take refuge in the shelter of my Wings, where you are absolutely secure.
When you are shaken out of you comfortable routines, grip My hand tightly and look for growth opportunities. Instead of bemoaning the loss of your comfort, accept the challenge of something new. I lead you on from glory to glory, making you fit for My kingdom. Say yes to the ways I work in your life. Trust Me, and don't be afraid.
